詳細資料

A famous Chinese Buddhist monk, Xuanzang(602-664 CE), left China in 627 CE and started his 19-year journey on the Silk Road seeking true Buddhist Scriptures from India. When he returned to China in 645 CE, he wrote The Great Tang Dynasty Record of the Western Regions, a historical document of his epic voyage. Henceforward, Xuanzang became one of China most notable heroes for his enormous courage and determination to overcome a difficulties on his way to the west.

Centuries later, a Taiwan-based magazine Rhythms Monthly used The Great Tang Dynasty Record of the Western Regions as a guide and sent five teams of reporters and photographers to retrace Xuanzang's historical route along the Silk road. The team spent five years capturing the modern day culture, people and scenery.
